Motorco Music Hall
Motorco Music Hall, located in Durham, North Carolina, is a popular music venue with a rich history. The building that houses Motorco was built in 1938 as a bread production facility, later functioning as a car dealership and a limo service company. After being abandoned for some time, it was renovated and opened as Motorco Music Hall in 2010.
The venue is known for its large, state-of-the-art showroom, the eclectic GarageBar space, and the Parts & Labor kitchen that serves affordable food. It also features a large patio and a covered patio with its own bar and a Parrilla. With a capacity of 450, it is one of Durham's largest music venues.
Motorco Music Hall has hosted a variety of events, including live music, comedy, films, and private events such as meetings, parties, and weddings. It has also been a spot for cable-less couch potatoes to watch popular TV shows and has hosted a film series featuring alternative celluloid selections.
Over the years, Motorco has welcomed a wide range of artists and bands. Some of the notable performers include Torres, The Record Company, and Daley. The venue has also hosted concerts by artists such as Will Butler and Leanna Firestone.
Motorco Music Hall is more than just a music venue. It's a place where music lovers can enjoy a variety of shows, dine, and hang out in one location. It's a key part of Durham's Central Park district and has played a significant role in revitalizing what was once an industrial area of town.
