Public Records
Public Records is a unique venue located in a historic building in Brooklyn, NY, that has been repurposed to serve as a cultural hub for music and social gatherings. The building, dating back to 1912, has a rich history, having served as the headquarters for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, a church organ restoration company, and a vintage guitar restoration shop before becoming Public Records. The renovation of the space preserved much of the original architecture, including exposed pipes and pillars, while adding modern elements like sound panels for improved acoustics and a glass roof that enhances natural lighting.
The venue is divided into three main areas: an all-day vegan eatery, an Audiofile record and cocktail bar, and The Sound Room, which is a listening and performance space. The Sound Room is particularly notable for its capacity to hold up to 200 people and features a custom Isonoe mixer, making it an attractive spot for both local and global acts. Public Records stands out for its commitment to high-quality music, food, and drink, and for its dedication to creating a space that respects both the building's history and the environment.
