Valley Bar
The Valley Bar, located in Phoenix, AZ, is a unique music venue that offers a distinct experience for both music lovers and artists. It is situated in the basement of a mid-century building constructed in 1949, which was previously home to The Hub art galleries and the Sub Cultural Arts Center, where bands like Sound Garden, Green Day, and Bad Brains performed. The venue was transformed into the Valley Bar in 2015 by Charlie Levy and Tucker Woodbury, who are also behind the renowned Crescent Ballroom.
The venue is known for its intimate setting, with a capacity of 250 in the Music Hall, which showcases a variety of music, film, spoken word, and comedy. The Valley Bar also features a game room with billiards, shuffleboard, skee-ball, and more, and a secret restaurant serving up Short Leash gourmet dogs. The venue is also known for its Arizona-themed craft cocktails and local beers.
The Valley Bar has hosted a wide range of artists and bands. Some notable performances include those by Wolf Alice, Mac DeMarco, Big Thief, Empress Of, Car Seat Headrest, Avey Tare, Olivia Jean, The Nude Party, OFF!, METZ, and more. Other artists who have graced the stage include Phantom Planet, AVIV, True Widow, Jake Wesley Rogers, Stacey Ryan, and Remi Goode.
